It is my belief that if there are six chakras and six lines to the I Ching and six parts to whatever else exists in hell or heaven, the six strings of the electric guitar and all the associated sounds that go with them are linked invariably to the six realms that make up the harmonic balance of every human being. There are six basic notes and we are all variants tuned to different frequencies of those basic notes. That is why rock music caught on back when the first guys started to play; the music was attuned to the need of every individual to attain a balance and a rhythm. That is why we spend so much time with devices that play the particular sounds that each individual may gravitate toward, as in different groups, singers, musicians, or whatever the hell it is you want to listen to.

What I try to do with my music is lay down some basic chords, riffs, licks and harmonics that coincide with any given moment, then overlay and put them all together with different effects and frequencies to make a coherent revelation of one little space in time that is unified and relevant enough to carry with it the currents and rhythms of an even larger sense of reality. Like sounds and noises that we would not ordinarily hear, the sounds and noises of the unconscious mind made visible. The same thing I do with the gift I was given to make images that come from the same timeless place. It is thirty-eight years later and I still get goose bumps and start to cry and laugh at the same time when I listen to these vintage Allman performances. The are timeless and touch a very emotional and energy charged time in our human existence. The sounds come from and form the very basis for our unique human existence.

It is an extremely magical and powerful place that creates this kind of energy. It is a place available only to a few human beings throughout our overall course of history. It is a place that only a few are able to perceive, and even fewer are able to become a part of. Maybe that is the place I once was and have been ever since I was given the opportunity to create in a free and unencumbered manner so many years ago. It was same time that the Allman Brothers among others began their journey.

I am feeling this tremendous need to work at making this place tangible again, to open the door wide and let all the fire, energy, passion and power, that I have only been peeking at the past many years, hit me head on and with full force once again.
